Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join us in Zurich, Switzerland. In this role, you will serve as a top technical expert, using your business insight to design and architect workable solutions into IBM deals. You'll collaborate with the Red Hat solutions architecture teams as well as with the IBM presales technical delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions from across the Red Hat portfolio of offerings. You will work to provide key knowledge and experience to the IBM Global Business Services (GBS), Global Technology Services (GTS), and the cloud solutions group in regional teams, focusing on Red Hat OpenShift, containers, Kubernetes, Containers-as-a-Service (CaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), application modernization, application migration, middleware, and integration solutions. You'll need to have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be a crucial part of the in-depth experience our customers have with Red Hat. This is a unique career opportunity for an experienced solutions architect or architect, who enjoys building reference architectures and evangelizing the value of our solutions.

Primary job responsibilities

• Discover and analyze customers' business and technical needs and create solutions, supporting IBM locally in the country
• Collaborate with the sales and technical delivery teams in Red Hat and IBM to bring our customers the most efficient solutions
• Architect, design, and present multiproduct solutions to be included in the IBM Client Solutions
• Design and build the standard portfolio of offerings, in particular focusing on how it is being used with the GTS Managed Services and with other delivery teams
• Help the IBM teams in the country with the competitive positioning of Red Hat solutions and offerings
• Provide and create user stories and contribute to architectural blueprints for Red Hat offerings

Required skills

• Successful record in a presales engineering or consulting role
• Experience with the delivery of large-scale enterprise architecture solutions, ideally around the Red Hat technology area you'll be responsible for
• Background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology field
• Experience with Red Hat's portfolio of offerings and working with the product and technology (PnT) functions within Red Hat
• Good presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups of mixed business, technical, and management audiences
• Experience with middleware products like application servers, integration products, and business process management; knowledge of mobile solutions is a plus
• Knowledge of application architecture, including MVC Model 2, patterns, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), CVS, build management, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
