Role Overview
This position manages the execution of Quality Assurance objectives. May lead a team of entry to intermediate level Quality Assurance professionals. Sets day-to-day objectives for the achievement of immediate Quality Assurance goals and supervises completion.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Supervises execution of plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
• Drives elements of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
• Provides oversight for quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
• Supervises the collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources for use in the development of long-term quality strategy and programs.
• Reviews production processes and analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.
• Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures.

• Assure the preparation, retention, and control of all objective evidence of conformance to requirements including records of inspection, test, process control, audit, etc.

• Conduct and/or supervise studies to determine the cause, effect, and corrective measures necessary to remedy quality deviations.

• Plan, organize, and coordinate implementation of quality improvement activities.

• Enforces compliance to UTAS Internal Policies (e.g. Business Conduct, EEOC, EH&S, Security, etc.) within the Quality Department.

• Responsible for evaluating subordinates’ performance.

• Create and implement new techniques and procedures including development and the implementation of process improvement methods in the assigned areas.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following combination of education and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment, 2-3 years' experience in Quality.

• Demonstrated experience managing a team of direct/indirect reports and strong leadership skills.

• Knowledge of and background in AS9100 is preferred.

• Skilled in computer applications such as the MS Office Products.

• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Strong work ethic and motivation and ability to work with limited supervision.

• Ability to problem solve, exercising creativity with practical solutions.

• Sound administrative skills.

• Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth

• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in the English language

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 7 years of relevant experience is required.
