Our team is seeking a talented senior finance manager to manage the R&D Finance of the Modern Applications Business. This senior manager owns the partnership with the head of R&D, and cover all finance needs of the R&D organization, e.g. financial expense management and planning, M&A analysis, QBRs, R&D investment portfolio management, packaging & pricing option assessment. This senior manager is part of the finance leadership team for all of modern applications business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial forecasting, close and QBR
  • Participate in operations reviews to ensure both short-term budgets and long-term plans are on track
  • Annual financial planning covering bookings and expenses, process, and investment tradeoffs
  • Executive partnering with head of R&D as well as key members of the modern application business
  • Assessment of M&A opportunities. Provide leadership for managing all merger and acquisitions activities within this area of the business, including target identification, due diligence, financial valuation
  • Financial leadership of post-acquisition integration for the R&D function
  • Development and assessment of Pricing & Packaging options
  • Lead the analytics for the R&D investment portfolio review, with ROI analysis, product life cycle management and balanced portfolio optimization
  • Assessment, framing, modeling, influencing and advice on investment opportunities
  • Attract, develop and retain outstanding financial management talent.
  • Effectively work across the operations finance team to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal, improving productivity
  • Constantly innovate to further improving the finance impact and process efficiency

Required Skills

  • Experience & Education:
    • 8-10 years’ experience in financial planning and analysis
    • Broad range of FP&A exposure across sales and business unit finance
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business from Top Tier University
    • Top Tier University MBA preferred
    • Experience implementing significant process and technology improvements, experience integrating acquisitions, significant functional experience specifically of finance operations in a “large” public company (preferably multinational) environment, and strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC compliance.
  • Project Management and Collaboration:
    • Excellence in project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
    • Highly structured and systematic approach to project management
    • Ability to pro-actively keep all stakeholders well informed and involved in the process
    • Ability to work well and influence other finance teams
  • Financial and Business Analysis:
    • Expert in complex financial modeling using Excel
    • Ability to do to analyses "on-the-spot" with team and finance executives
    • Ability to provide sound business judgment, strategic thinking, and broad financial and business perspective across the organization
    • Ability to sort through complex issues, translate and communicate them in a clear, concise manner and develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive manner
    • Outstanding financial acumen blended with business partnership and leadership

  • People Management:
    • Ability to attract and retain high performing team members
    • Proactive in setting goals for and developing high performing team members
  • Systems/Processes:
    • Experience with Hyperion Planning or other planning tools a plus
    • A proven track record of process improvement and experience with financial systems and process change initiatives
