As a GP Data Engineer at Micron Technology Inc., you are a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing advanced solutions and predictive models that enable speed in decision making and deliver significant value across procurement. You are required constantly to learn new cutting-edge technology and creatively apply/deliver solutions to the Global Procurement area. You will collaborate with various roles and teams across the enterprise to design and implement solutions to extract data and insights from Global Procurement team and partnering organizations such as Supply Chain and IT, as well as Master Data, Data Governance and Data Scientist throughout the enterprise.

As part of the GP Data & Analytics team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with business team members to ensure that the solution is meeting the business needs.
  • Analyze and define technical requirements of the development backlog leveraging user story (requirements) and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead the Data and Analytics Solution lifecycle through requirement gathering, analysis, design, data-modeling, testing and deployment
  • Deliver ETL (SSIS), multi-dimensional cubes (SSAS) and reporting (SSRS & Tableau) solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Business Intelligence tools, SAP Hana/Business Objects and/or Tableau / Power BI
  • Architect, design, and prototype solutions to support business strategies and deliver business value.
  • Drive new analytics, reporting, and automation capabilities including the use of advanced data science solutions
  • Resolve operational issues and ensure stability of the reporting environment to the business users
  • Provide hands on demonstration of the solution and provide technical support to business team members during testing and deployment phase
  • Partner closely with GP stakeholders to understand solution work flows and support data visualization and information-based decision-making
  • Develop self-service analytics and reporting solutions for use by the Global Procurement team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in:
    • ETL development tools (eg. Microsoft SSIS, Python)
    • Microsoft BI development in Analysis Services (SSAS) or Reporting Services (SSRS) 2005 or greater (preferred but not required).
    • Database development (T-SQL, PLSQL, and/or SQL scripts)
    • Automation server and continuous integration/delivery tools such as Jenkins and GitHub
    • One or more data visualization/reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Business Objects, Hana Analytics, Microsoft Reporting Services, Hana Analytics)
  • A strong systems background, good oral and written communication, problem solving, teamwork and consensus building skills.
  • Deep interest and aptitude in telling stories with data and can translate complex business requirements into technical designs and ultimately business solutions

Education
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in relevant Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Administration program or related field of study (equivalent experience considered); Advanced degree preferred
