In this role, you have the opportunity to

Fundamentally drive Philips strategy and generate control points on next generation user interface experiences.

You are responsible for

• Supporting and directing next generation UI projects through the combination of deep domain knowledge, technical understanding and design thinking.
• Co-leading work packages to generate and protect new interaction principles in the area of AR/VR, AI, digital assistants, gaze/voice/gesture interaction, and more.
• Collecting business strategies, trends, and deep user insights in complex clinical care settings, to effectively scope and execute multi-disciplinary workshops (design, research, business).
• Identifying, shaping and writing up UI/UX inventions, such that they can be patented and become valuable control points for our businesses.
• Maintaining an active network with innovators in design, research and the business to facilitate uptake of new (protected) UI/UX solutions.
  

You are a part of

The Group Design team which is a global creative team part of Philips Group Innovation. We are tasked with leading and delivering design innovation across the Philips businesses and markets. As a Design Strategist, you will work in multidisciplinary teams, teaming up with colleagues in the business as well as colleagues at Philips Research and Philips Group Strategy.

The Philips Design global creative force of 400+ professionals is located in our Design studios in Europe, North America and Asia which includes interaction design, data-enabled design, service design, people/trend research, communication design, product design.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in (Interaction) Design, Science or Engineering with excellent academic track record;
• Competences in interaction experience design for next generation interaction technologies such as AR/VR, interaction with AI, digital assistants, multimodal interaction, conversational UI and remote guidance.
• Experience with IP capturing in the area of next gen UI, with sufficient technical understanding to describe system architectures, components and behaviors
• Creative, visionary and engaging ‘Design Thinker’ and inventor, with a strong user-centric mindset.
• Proficiency in concept / scenario capture via mock-ups, acting out, story boards, (3D) animation/video, prototyping or other storytelling techniques
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Excellent analytical skills, and at the same time enjoys working creatively and hands-on in a dynamic and multidisciplinary setting.
