Juno Therapeutics GmbH Munich (a Celgene owned company) is seeking an Associate Scientist to support the development of allogenic engineered T-cell products. The team is responsible for advanced manufacturing solutions that support the development of gene-engineered T cell therapies. Successful candidates will have a strong foundation in human T cell biology and a proven track-record of implementation and optimization of a broad range of in vitro cell-based and molecular assays using human immune and tumor cells. The ability to work in cross-functional teams and yet having a high degree of independence is required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement strategies for producing and controlling gene-engineered T cells at various stages of the manufacturing process.
- Develop methodologies to purify/refine gene-engineered T cells.
- Maintain critical quality attributes of gene-engineered T cells.
- Serve as T cell biology subject matter expert in a multidisciplinary team setting that includes non-clinical, clinical, translational, discovery, regulatory, and CMC functions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Ph.D. degree in immunology or related field.
• 4+ years of experience in the field of human immunology.
• Expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry and in vitro T cell functional assays.
• Demonstrated independence in experimental design, data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
• Willingness to learn new cutting-edge methodologies.
• Willingness to contribute to development of novel manufacturing technologies.
• Experienced in using MS Office (required), GraphPad Prism and FlowJo (beneficial) programs.
• Excellent communication and writing skills in English (required) and German (beneficial).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with gene-engineering of T cells using viral or non-viral modalities.
• Experience with statistical analysis, DoE and data visualization software packages (JMP).
• Experience with multi-attribute molecular platforms for characterizing immune cells.
• Experience with T cell manufacturing process.
