Government Solutions - Product Engineer

You will collaborate closely with other product development team members and help government organizations leverage the investment they are making in geospatial technology and data.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain realistic workflows and projects to assist government community users in building useful and timely information products
• Work closely with Business Development and Professional Services to understand various government-specific client requirements and help formulate appropriate GIS solutions
• Provide input into product design aspects to ensure our products are simple to use and provide a great experience for our customers
• Design and author test cases for functionality, performance, scalability, and durability; execute both manual and automated tests, analyze test results, and report results
• Author help documentation that explains how to use and configure the solution
• Continually assess product quality and release readiness
• Share and distribute your workflows and projects in samples, tutorials, blog articles, and videos
• Research and analyze customer requests, industry standards, and specifications to help define requirements

Requirements

• Familiarity with Esri’s ArcGIS platform and online services or other GIS products
• Demonstrable experience developing both 2D and 3D information products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within a small team
• Familiarity using a scripting or application development language such as Python, JavaScript, .NET, or C#
• Experience with software testing
• Bachelor’s or master’s in GIS, geography, computer science, statistics, engineering, or related field

Recommended Qualifications:

• Familiarity with agile software development methodologies
• Expertise in at least one of the following: Python, JavaScript, C#, C++, .NET, or Java with the ability to produce excellent code
• Use and administration of relational databases
• Experience with big data analytic tools and technologies
• Experience with CI/CD or CT
