Logistics Controller

Location: Hounslow

Thales UK has an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to join our AVS business unit in Hounslow as a Logistics Controller where you will be supporting an aircraft maintenance activity at London Heathrow and other maintenance facilities operated by the customer.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Maintain parts inventory levels at stocking points (vending machines and external stock locations).
  • Receive new & repaired parts into serviceable inventory.
  • Ship unserviceable parts to repair stations.
  • Complete import / export documentation & customs clearance activity for LHR non BA TKM consignments.

Receiving and Inspection

  • Inspect parts from repair stations / Irvine supply chain.
  • Ensure all documentation is correct and meets FAA / EASA requirements.
  • Observe ESD requirements.
  • Update Servo to receive parts into LHR inventory.
  • Archive / store electronically, all airworthiness certificates and associated documentation (where applicable).

Vending Machines

  • Monitor vending machine consumption (daily).
  • Replenish / collect parts from vending machines (daily).
  • Complete inventory checks of vending machines (weekly).
  • Record and report any machine damage / degraded functionality.

Repair Cycle

  • Inspect parts & documentation returned from vending machines.
  • Complete Servo ‘turn in’ action and produce repair orders.
  • Ship parts to repair station within 48 hours of Servo ‘turn in’.
  • Monitor CID removals and record all instances of noncompliance to BA Cosmetic Standard.
  • Complete scrap process for TPCU’s / Handsets (monthly).

Trade Compliance

  • Create import / export documents for all associated shipments.
  • Maintain and update import / export records for trade compliance.

Other Duties

  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the working area / environment.
  • Maintain company vehicles to high standard of cleanliness.
  • Report all vehicle defects.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • GCE O’level English & Maths, grade C or equivalent.
  • Knowledge / experience of aviation logistics.
  • Thales LHR local induction training.
  • Manual Handling, Human Factors, ESD Compliance,
  • GSAT, Human Factors, EWIS, Fuel Tank Safety.
  • EASA 145 Logistics
