Description
The Supervisor - Track oversees and supervises the work of Track Technicians that maintain and repair mainline tracks, special track work, switch machines, tunnels, structures, power rails, reaction rails, drainage and walkways and responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of heavy rail vehicles that have diesel and hydraculic components. Required to ensure all revenue generating documentation is accurate and complete. Review Proposals from vendors for various track maintenance. Conduct shift briefings to assign work to employees and contractors. Train, qualify and certify employees to perform job tasks. Responsible to communicate and train employees and subcontractors on safety standards and procedures and enforce compliance.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and specialized training from a recognized technical school in mechanical or electrical and 3 years of experience in track maintenance and repair. Intermediate skill levels in Microsoft Office and Windows Operating Applications.
Will require flexibility and willingness to work in a 24/7 shift environment, safety sensitive position that is subject random alcohol and drug testing, valid drivers license, required to pass a homeland security criminal background check for SIDA badge. Physically able to perform essential function of Track Supervisor, some are lift and carry 50lbs 4', work in all types of weather, operate heavy machinery, agility to walk rail tracks.
