Join us as an Elevator
& Escalator Expert and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in
New York, New York (JFK Airport Site).
As an Elevator &
Escalator Expert, you will be responsible for providing subject matter
expertise to manage contractor performance for JFK’s Schindler elevators,
escalators, and moving walkways.
Responsibilities:

Act as subject matter
expert in elevators, escalators and moving walkways.

Complete familiarization
with all rules, regulations, and code pertaining to the operation and
maintenance of vertical systems (for New York City, State, and Federal)
-
Manage daily maintenance
activities supporting Elevators (34), Escalators (26) and Moving Walkways (6)
including PM (periodic maintenance), CM (corrective maintenance, and CARP projects.

Ensure completion
requirements of these tasks in terms of QA and schedule are met.

Vendor Management – Ensure
vendor performs work consistent with contractual obligations including
equipment uptime.

Act as primary point of
contact for repair confirmation and approvals, based on expertise.

Administrative Management
– Ensure Maximo (maintenance database) is utilized by vendor to close open work
orders.

Review monthly invoicing
and confirm accuracy.

Create Purchase Order
requests to gain extra work approvals.

Participate in senior
management meetings and present vertical asset status reports (daily, monthly).

Available for 24/7
operation, shift could include overnight and weekend shifts for emergency repairs,
over halls, or shutdowns.

Exhibit excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with 15+ years of experience as a qualified vertical asset mechanic including at least 5 years of supervisory experience OR
- Associate degree with 12+ years of experience as a qualified vertical asset mechanic including at least 5 years of supervisory experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience as a qualified vertical asset mechanic including at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OSHA Standard
- Experience with rules, regulations, and code pertaining to the operation and maintenance of vertical systems for New York City, State, and Federal.
