We are looking for an individual with a passion for state-of-the-art design, development, debug, and maintenance for our industry leading mobile and stationary printer products. This is an opportunity to work with wireless and wired technologies, such as 802.11n, Bluetooth, and Ethernet, and security elements! Successful candidates are self starters that work well individually, as part of a team, and are driven to make a positive difference in what we deliver to our customers. Responsibilities Responsible for the development of printer firmware and applications using C/C++ programming languages. Interfaces with other software, hardware, and test engineers, application developers, purchasing, manufacturing personnel, field engineers, and customers. Individual is required to work with a minimum of supervision towards a stated goal.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in software and applications development projects.
  • Maintain and support existing software.
  • Develop Unit and Acceptance Tests, and assist in detailing clear, concise and thorough test procedures to support verification that the software satisfies all product requirements.
  • Create and maintain project schedules and report on project status, activities and issues.
  • Ensure software developed satisfies Zebra's quality standards, and is implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with customers, other engineers, Sales and Marketing to understand project/customer requirements and translate these into solutions.
  • Work with Quality, Service and Manufacturing organizations to ensure that Zebra products are delivered and maintained to the highest standards possible.
  • Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Experience with high level programming languages such as C/C++, Java, .NET required.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Solid understanding of network communications and protocols such as TCP/IP and BSD sockets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-managed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Works well in both small and large groups.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • OTHER BENEFICIAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience with Linux operating system.
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering skills.
  • Embedded programming courses.
