Description
Joining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and
decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.
Position’s Objective & Summary:
Develop, implement, and execute marketing and sales strategies / tactics for the da Vinci system, products and procedure adoption in the global distribution markets for the Latin America region. Work jointly with global distribution Commercial teams, and other regional and global internal resources to achieve short and long term win goals such as KOL development, case observation, epicenters and global distribution marketing events. This includes a focus on priority markets while remote management of others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Train indirect field and distributor sales teams on global marketing strategies through collaboration with the EMEIA and Headquarters (Sunnyvale, CA) global marketing team, supporting Intuitive marketing educational programs, surgeon targeting tools, and other marketing tools through conference calls, field “ride-along” meetings and regional sales meetings
• Conduct/participate in targeted sales calls to identify/screen/develop surgeon and hospital executive KOLs, and other health professionals to initiate and enhance strategically critical da Vinci Surgery programs. Develop necessary market development events including surgeon lecture programs and webinars with these KOLs to drive promotion, competency, and utilization of new and existing da Vinci Surgery products. Prepare KOLs for key peer-to-peer engagement events with right messaging and tools.
• Work closely with the Commercial team providing initial guidance, being a resource during the process for the Commercial team who is doing the development in collaboration with corporate marketing.
• In partnership with Global Distributors, identify the top key country or regional surgical societies. Develop an executable strategy to work with these societies to advance da Vinci adoption. Plan appropriate Intuitive clinical programs and engagements at such annual society meetings targeting global distribution surgeons and hospital executives. Coordinate new product unveiling opportunities (i.e., confidential “sneak peek” KOL product demonstrations)
• Identify, recommend, and help surgeons implement clinical publications, in partnership with regional and global clinical affairs teams that is aligned with KOL development project.
• Develop local distribution Epicenter process, implementation plan and ensure effective utilization that meets global standards. Support Commercial team with selection, validation and launch of epicenter together with global marketing support. This includes providing best practices for optimal utilization and impact.
• Harmonize Distributors case observation centers by working closely with the local team to establish quality standards. Facilitate fact-finding for all distributors case observation site per Commercial team. Conduct gap analysis following site visit by Commercial team. Collaborate with the Commercial team and local distributor leaders to identify the appropriate sites that support the clinical milestone activities.
• Conduct frequent field visit in priority distributor markets and direct markets to gain experiences, competencies and credibility to effectively lead and perform required activities.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in life science engineering or business disciplined required
• Progressive experience in product/clinical marketing, including product launch, with substantive experience within a medical device company
• Fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish highly desirable
• Surgical and/or Operating Theatre (Room) experience a must
• Self-starter with ability to take leadership in a high-growth environment
• Proven ability to create strategic plans, effectively position and message product/procedure and develop strong sales support to drive product/procedure adoption
• Demonstrated success in building clinical and economical education programs to drive product/procedure growth across indirect markets
• Demonstrated ability to work creatively amidst competing priorities to develop high-impact marketing programs on-time and within budget, to support overall marketing strategies and business objectives
• Superior verbal/written communication, teamwork, and interpersonal work across multiple constituents
• Excellent podium presentation skills and experience with presenting to C-level managers
• Ability to prioritize and smoothly manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks
• Strong knowledge of the MS Office product suite
• Ability to travel 50%. International travel required
• Position based in Brazil
