Global Real Estate and Agricultural Finance maintain a portfolio invested in commercial real estate and agricultural mortgages, as well as real estate equities. Agricultural Finance sources agricultural real estate investments through five regional field offices in the U.S. and a consulting office in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The Investment Portfolio Management Analyst will serve as an integral part of the agricultural strategies group team and execute on growth strategies for MIM. The Investment Portfolio Management Analyst will provide support to MIM portfolio managers with respect to managing MetLife general account as well as external third-party clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis of strategic business plan execution and active portfolio management results.
  • Perform critical portfolio analysis and communicate information to portfolio managers and senior leadership.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc client portfolio exposure holdings reports and supporting analysis.
  • Leverage technology and promote continuous improvement in portfolio management functions.
  • Interact with investment specialists and stakeholders across the MIM organization regarding portfolio information and execution of client strategies.
  • Maintain portfolio investment guidelines and governance protocols.
  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Respond to ad hoc queries in an efficient, thorough, and timely manner.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage several projects concurrently.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize and work well in a small team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Prior portfolio management support and/or real estate related work experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in agricultural finance career through academic or industry experience.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills associated with external and internal communication requirements.
  • Excellent PC skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance, economics or related field
