To achieve this, the Academic Success Manager supports and encourages the student’s success in completing the program and becoming a competitive candidate. Successful students graduate with an exceptional portfolio, strong project management skills, and the confidence to network and interview.
Each student makes a serious commitment and life choice by joining this program. As Academic Success Manager, you’ll act as an advisor, counselor, cheerleader, and a lot more. You’ll engage students daily over chat, email, and video calls to set expectations, and resolve any issues they may encounter on their way to graduation. You’ll have the opportunity to conceive and pilot new features for the student and community experience as you build a vibrant community of learners, educators and support that allows Thinkful students to thrive.
The job has a lot of variability day-to-day with an emphasis on both hard and soft skills. We will invest in the right person, so talented people with an eagerness to learn, build community and a passion for assisting others in attaining their career goals is what is truly required. Academic Success Managers need a lot of energy, integrity and positivity to work with a wide variety of student personalities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, tracks and reacts to data, can stay organized across a range of responsibilities and autonomously problem solve when needed.
Responsibilities

• Drive student success through any means necessary, including onboarding calls, 1-on-1 and group sessions
• Evaluate student progress and work to tailor the experience for each of your students
• Keep your students engaged and motivated
• Identify and resolve student issues
• Innovate on the product to improve its ROI
• Guide students to reach the highest standards of job-readiness upon graduation.
• Motivate students to demonstrate high quality output, positive work ethic, and sharp communication skills
• Identify negative learning experiences and intervene ASAP to rectify the situation
• Identify opportunities for improvement across the program; develop clear and strong opinions on the product, pedagogy, curriculum, mentorship, and program structure

Requirements

• Enjoy working with people, not just putting head down and working
• Knowledgeable about the tech industry in their city
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Listen, motivate, and provide valuable feedback to others
• Creative and flexible day to day problem solver
• Knowledge in adult learning; mentoring, teaching or counseling experience is a plus
• History of success in professional realm
• Keep up with new technologies and trends in the tech industry
