Texas Educator Certification Exam Scorer – Seeking recently retired and experienced educators who can score during daytime hours at our San Antonio scoring facility.

Description

Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) Spanish Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following:

  • Have at least three years of experience teaching in a bilingual Spanish classroom in the state of Texas
  • Have taught in a bilingual Spanish classroom in the state of Texas within the past three years
  • Reside in the state of Texas
  • Hold a bachelor's degree
  • Comply with the ethical obligations under §SBEC 230.21 (g) at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/sbecrules/tac/chapter230/ch230c.html including, but not limited to:
  1. An educator, candidate, or other test taker shall not:

A. solicit information about the contents of test items on an examination that the educator, candidate, or other test taker has not already taken from an individual who has had access to those items, or offer information about the contents of specific test items on an examination to individuals who have not yet taken the examination; or

B. otherwise engage in conduct that amounts to violations of test security or confidentiality integrity, including cheating, deception, or fraud.

  • Agree to NOT:
  • use training/experience as a scorer to receive compensation for any work in test preparation related to this assessment
  • take the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) Spanish exam within 180 days of scoring

AND

Must meet one of the following:

  • Be a PK–12 teacher who holds a valid and current teaching certificate in the state of Texas to teach in a bilingual Spanish classroom
  • Be an EPP faculty member of a program, approved by the state of Texas, that offers Bilingual teacher certification programs
  • Be an EPP faculty member teaching courses, approved by the state of Texas, for Bilingual teacher certification
  • Be an educator who has scored the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) Spanish exam within the past 3 years

Retired educators are eligible if they have the appropriate certification and have taught within the previous three years.
