Job Description

Quizlet’s mission is to help students (and their teachers) practice and master whatever they are learning. Every month more than 50 million active learners from 130 countries practice and master more than 300 million study sets on every conceivable topic and subject. We are developing new learning experiences by modeling how students learn and drawing upon knowledge acquisition, retention, and pedagogy in cognitive science. We are always seeking to help students master any subject by optimizing study efficiency and engagement. Quizlet is a leading company in consumer learning technology with proven traction and huge growth ahead. Our business model is robust with two strong revenue streams — advertisements and paid subscriptions. Our ads business allows us to offer amazing study tools to millions of students around the globe for free. And our premium subscriptions give students and teachers the ability to create custom content and access learning analytics tools. Come and help us scale one of the fastest growing and highest quality consumer learning brands, and develop innovative simple-to-use study tools that help students everywhere. Quizlet is located in San Francisco, CA and Denver CO. and our London team is our first outside the United States. The Role As Quizlet’s first community manager outside the USA, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key groups of Quizlet users, teachers and communities with an active interest in education. These could include: teacher meet-ups and groups, students, parents, and administrators across a range of organizations including: schools, academies, FE colleges, universities, and multiple other groups who love Quizlet. Reporting to the UK Country Manager, and working collaboratively with teams in both London and the USA, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to engage with these groups to increase adoption of Quizlet. You will seek to understand and support our users, and help shape the direction of the product through clear and concrete feedback from focus groups, surveys and meetups. In addition, you will create content across a variety of mediums, with an end goal of engaging and inspiring our users. One day you might be writing emails to our teacher community, while another might find you leading a video project for FAQs or a new product launch. You will bring a passion for working with the education community and thrive working in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment. You will be a self-starter with the ambition of bringing on as many users to the platform as possible.

    • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, collaborate, influence and work as part of a small team.
    • Appreciation for the educational goals of children and how teachers can support those goals using technology
    • A passion for empowering our teacher community
We hope you are excited about everything you read so far. We highly encourage you to apply for this position, even if you feel you do not meet all the requirements. Quizlet is always looking for amazing folks that believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in various ways - not merely candidates that fit a certain mold. Quizlet's Team Culture We are here to make education better and more accessible. We strive to improve the lives of students and teachers at every stage and in every setting. We value diversity, humility, transparency, and collaboration as the best paths to our success — as individuals, as a team, and as a company.
