About the role:
We are seeking a Business Analyst Contractor for a 3-month project that has worked in a technology function. This person will have an analytical background and experience in managing data pipelines and building Tableau dashboards, with the ability to make recommendations based on imperfect data from multiple internal and external sources. These dashboards will require back end connections with key data warehouses and the successful candidate will be able to understand the nature of the underlying data and its validity.
This person must have the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally (Finance, Sales, Product, and Engineering). The ideal candidate will be passionate about E-Commerce and SaaS and be intellectually curious, learn quickly, and be able to move fast while maintaining focus on high-impact projects.
This person will partner with the Lead Data Scientist.
Responsibilities:
* Create and manage customer dashboards in Tableau
* Manage and maintain dashboards and ensure data is firewalled and customers have access to appropriate data
* Potential opportunity to investigate correlations and causes for successful KPIs which arise in the dashboards through the use of R and basic statistical analysis
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
* BSc Degree in Statistics, Math, or Business
* Experience with creating Tableau dashboards
* 2+ years of professional experience using Python & R - SAS is a plus!
* 2+ years of MATLAB, SQL, & Advanced Excel experience is a plus
* Experience with Retail/E-Commerce industry and know how to apply analytic techniques to solve problems and set up test cases that can impact client sites
* Can build & manage a large amount of data pipelines as it contains to client web performance
* Ability to provide end-to-end analytics
* Ability to speak to a group about projects and the current status of those projects
* Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail
* Strong work ethic and a team player, and the ability to think quickly on your feet
* Ability to work independently on complex problems of varying complexity and scope
* Ability interface at many levels, including internal/external clients
* Great communication skills (written and verbal)
Hours & Additional Information:
* Monday - Friday; 35-40 hours per week max
* Work hours: anytime between 8 AM -- 7 PM PT (1-hour unpaid lunch break); 8 paid working hours max per day
* Overtime must be approved by an immediate supervisor in advance
* Estimated Start Date: Nov 4 -- Dec 2, 2019
