Role Overview
This position owns the execution of key elements of Quality Assurance operational plans. May lead of team of primarily experienced Quality Assurance professionals or a team responsible for Quality Assurance for an organization of small size or scope. Sets tactical and operational plans in support of continuous quality improvement. Provides guidance in the implementation of Quality Assurance plans and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develops and manages plans, guidelines, policies and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
• Leads implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
• Oversees quality improvement processes to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
• Manages teams collecting and analyzing quality information from multiple sources to develop long-term quality strategy and programs.
• Manages teams providing production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.
• Develops and implements program quality plans and procedures.
• Management of Quality Engineering, Inspection, Calibration, Dynamometer, Auditing, Test Lab and Configuration Control functions to ensure carbon quality meets customer and FAA requirements.
• Assure the preparation, retention, and control of all objective evidence of conformance to requirements including records of inspection, test, process control, audit, etc.
• Conduct and/or supervise studies to determine the cause, effect, and corrective measures necessary to remedy quality deviations.
• Responsible for creating and implementing new techniques and procedures including development and the implementation of process improvement methods in the assigned areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, chemistry, materials or related degree or an Advanced degree
• Demonstrated experience managing a team of direct/indirect reports and strong leadership skills.
• Basic understanding of the Carbon Manufacturing Process and plant operations preferred.
• Knowledge of and background in AS9100 is preferred.
Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
