The Retail Client & Owned Channels team resides within Central Marketing and works closely with Product, Client Experience and Central Marketing partners to develop compelling marketing programs that deliver business results. The role will have direct impact on the company’s future growth and is an opportunity to shape the customer experience of an iconic brand and to influence millions of investors in the decision journeys impacting their financial future.

What you’re good at

The Senior Marketing Manager - Retirement (individual contributor) will provide end-to-end management of retail client marketing efforts that support clients and prospects on their journey to retirement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Define and articulate an overarching marketing strategy and multi-phased plan that communicates the vision of retirement solutions available at Schwab.
  • Develop and maintain an actionable marketing plan that clearly articulates key details and progress to key stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with and, in some cases, lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute multi-channel marketing strategies, including email, web, and paid media.
  • Marketing liaison for business partners to evaluate marketing opportunities, develop recommendations, and implement marketing support within the product development model
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with Agency Partners to lead the creative development of client marketing communications.
  • Evaluate marketing opportunities, develop recommendations and implement marketing communications across multiple marketing channels.
  • Accountable for ensuring all marketing communications are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you have

  • 10+ years product marketing experience is ideal
  • Experience managing creative agencies is required
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of investment products and investing fundamentals
  • Experience executing a wide variety of marketing communications including digital content, print, email, and banner advertising

The ideal candidate will possess the following capabilities:

  • Excellent marketing program management skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful execution
  • Strong marketing strategy experience, with the ability to execute multi-channel
  • Attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience writing creative briefs and working with creative agencies
  • Developing multi-touch point campaigns across owned/ paid/ earned channels
  • Leveraging data to draw actionable insights, and establishing test and learn frameworks and measurement plans.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills to deliver sound marketing recommendations that drive business results
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with business and marketing partners, and report out on marketing program status
  • Leadership and relationship-building skills, including the ability to build consensus with key partners, such as product, creative, advertising, analytics, etc., work effectively in a cross-functional/highly matrixed organization, and manage by influence
  • Sound judgment, planning, marketing management and organizational skills
  • A ‘can-do’, results-oriented approach
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
