This internship will be focused on implementing and leading lean operations throughout the factory. Lean operations should be a core value to any aspiring engineer regardless of discipline or focus. This position will be integrated with several different departments and projects to help educate on operations, manufacturing, lean, and leadership.

As an engineering intern in Collins Aerospace, you will participate in operations and manufacturing support tasks such as:

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Work with various operations and manufacturing groups to drive change
  • Lead assigned continuous improvement project to be reported out at the end of the internship
  • Work with operators to improve their processes
  • Design and update Standard Work documents
  • Identify process or equipment improvement opportunities
  • Support engineering projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an engineering degree
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completion of sophomore year
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS Office
  • MS Visio
  • MS SQL
  • Calipers and shop tools
