Position Summary

Manager of Sales Operations is responsible for leading sales system operations and analytic reporting providing support to sales teams and leadership with forecasting, planning, commission plan development and day-to-day operations. These include planning, reporting, sales process optimization, sales training, product training, sales program implementation, and sales administration. This role is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the sales organization as well as vendor relationships that optimize the sales process. This position will report to the Director of Sales Operations & Business Enablement, manage a team of analysts and project managers, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are being met.

Position Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Data, Metrics & Reporting
    • Own the end-to-end process of tracking the sales funnel and operational metrics and deliver regular insights to the business. Define and deliver recommendations to improve the funnel performance for sales management
    • Manage and maintain sales data in CRM (Salesforce) and other software programs
    • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards or reports, both in CRM and beyond, around key performance indicators to track sales operations and cross-functional efficiencies, and identify areas for improvement
    • Partner with sales leaders & finance to create and maintain sales forecasting models and recommend optimization strategies
    • Work directly with executive leadership team to present sales metrics and associated insights
  • Sales & Partner Enablement
    • Work directly with senior sales leadership to strategize, plan, and track sales initiatives and campaigns
    • Assist sales leaders with pipeline and opportunity inspection
    • Refine customer segmentation, assist with territory management, and help create a plan to enhance upsell, cross-sell and renewal processes
    • Support monthly or quarterly business review presentations
    • Create and maintain documentation on sales processes, policies, and create and provide relevant sales training materials to assist with onboarding new sales talent
    • Manage vendor relationships with respect to CRM enhancements and process improvements
  • Process Improvement & Governance
    • Enhance sales productivity by enabling the team to work smarter by simplifying processes
    • Collaborate with sales leadership to understand process bottlenecks. Identify, develop, and implement process improvement opportunities
    • Oversee sales portion of cross-functional compliance tracking including ongoing data entry and annual improvement initiatives
    • Monitor accuracy and distribution of reports and other intelligence essential to the organization
    • Quarterback process on behalf of Sales to either identify & prioritize what is needed to improve existing CRM or develop transition plan to a new CRM, partnering with cross-functional teams to implement
  • Team Leadership
    • Oversee day-to-day teams' operation and performance
    • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales, sales operations, or business operations experience. Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of leadership or direct management experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading delivery of large, cross functional programs, with scope involving business analysis, requirements gathering, and creating/deploying solutions to end users
  • Track record of leading larger scale business improvement projects and teams
  • Track record of working through pipeline opportunities and challenges and converting those into high-impact programs to drive to revenue goals and plans
  • Familiarity and expertise related to software, tools, and knowledge required to perform are appropriate
  • Advanced knowledge of excel (data filters, vlookup, pivot tables, data connections, macros)
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce
  • Experience developing and managing manage a professional staff, including the ability to cultivate a positive team atmosphere in order to drive success, and to multi-task and perform well under pressure and in a heavy-volume environment
