POSITION SUMMARY :

The Director of IT is responsible for the Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) of software solutions supporting CDK. This position leads the strategy, architecture, design, development, project delivery, operational support and retirement of enterprise business applications.

The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience tackling various hardware and software problems. They should be comfortable providing technology solutions to employees and working closely with third party software companies to adopt new technologies and efficiently use existing ones. Candidates should have prior experience working with information technology and understand the latest technology trends to ensure the technology in place is up to date. Experience within Salesforce and Oracle Applications is desired for this role.

Responsibilities:

• Provide management, coaching and mentoring to create an environment which encourages accountability and strong staff development; manage the hiring, training, motivation, and retention of top talent. This includes managing external vendors and contractors
• Engage stakeholders across the enterprise to gain a strong understanding of business needs and deliver software applications that enable CDK’s business objectives
• In collaboration with business unit management and other IT functional areas, assess feasibility, determine cost/benefit, prioritize projects, and develop and implement systems
• Drive projects to successful completion by delivering on promised scope / functionality, resolving issues and conflicts with business / IT / Vendor partners, hitting deadlines with quality deliverables
• Ensure the operational performance, scalability and reliability of application services
• You provide overall technology leadership and vision to influence and drive the product strategy to deliver customer-focused workplace technology solutions
• You provide leadership focus, mentorship and management expertise to identify improvement and efficiency opportunities that strengthen IT team performance and delivery
• You partner with product management and technology teams to ensure ongoing alignment and execution of workplace technology strategy and roadmaps
• You develop strategic relationships across the business and key partners to inspire change and adoption of new ways of working that drive competitive advantage
• Experience owning or influencing product strategy & vision, roadmaps, and backlog prioritization
• Solid portfolio management and financial experience, including capital and operational budgets, resource planning and prioritization
• Experience utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies
• Superb communication, influencing and relationship building skills across a complex matrixed organization, and experience working with senior management
• Ability to look at workplace technology solutions in creative and unconventional ways, recognizing opportunities to innovate and engaging partners in a vision and strategy
• Effective vendor management and ability to develop strategic vendor partnerships

Qualifications:

• University Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or Related field
• 7+ years of people management experience in an engineering, development or technology role
• Experience in the following areas: Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Order Management
• Demonstrated acumen and passion for both business and technology, including the latest digital innovations as they apply to the creation of business value
• Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology
• Proven internal and external influencing skills at senior and executive management levels
• Exceptional ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
• Experience in managing vendors and systems integrators
