Pre-Sales Engineer – Paris, France

This strong co-operative Pre-Sales Engineer we are looking for, is the solution expert to the Account Executive, and will analyze and present our software solutions to meet the client’s objectives (or more!).

In this role you will be a member of the Sales team, to do discovery with customers, understand their business processes, identify areas where our technologies can help and provide software demonstrations tailored to their needs across a variety of solution areas . You will serve as the subject matter expert for SaaS, enterprise pursuits, and strategic accounts. You will become a key influence on senior and executive leadership, concerning product delivery and product strategy for new business and existing customers. In addition, you will be closely working with the transition project team to ensure smooth handover from Sales to Professional Services (implementation), and you will be working with Product Management to customer requirements. The Pre-Sales Engineer reports into the Director Pre-sales, and this role will involve 20-50% travelling.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivery of product configurations for presentations at customer meetings or events
  • To be technical expert to provide specs for RFI/RFP requests
  • To conduct value-based product demonstrations and remove obstacles that occur during sales cycle
  • Identify and help drive new uses of the Accruent product portfolio
  • Support Product Management with relevant field data to ensure product enhancement
  • Prepare sales engineering reports, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information, and provide relevant technological trends.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant Business Education (eg. Electrical Engineering, Computer Science)
  • Experience in asset intensive industries like Chemical, Oil&Gas, Utilities or Corporate Real Estate and Retail
  • More than 4 years’ experience in pre-sales support or sales engineering in a B2B environment
  • Knowledge of SaaS/Hosted/On-premise based enterprise technologies
  • Pro-actively get and keep knowledge and skills up to date
  • Must be customer focused and must have the ability to manage- and resolve solutions to complex technical issues
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business and technical teams to provide quick and timely responses to prospects
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills in French and English, other languages are a plus (German, Swedish, Spanish)
  • Executive presence with ability to lead interactive sessions with a (senior) audience
  • Willingness to travel
