Email Marketing Manager (Contract or Contract-to-Hire)

Job Description

We’re hiring an Email Marketing Specialist who is the complete package – data driven, creative, proactive, passionate, and motivated by results - to become an integral member of the Marketing team and a key driver of our owned channel development, scaling, and execution plans. You may start on a contract basis, with the goal to evolve into a full-time position over time. You will be an email marketing expert who can make an immediate impact by developing robust email marketing and nurture programs for Apartment List. You will develop, execute and scale email campaigns that engage our multifamily clients at different stages of the Apartment List journey - to both drive inbound demand for our Sales team, and to improve long-term client retention rates. You will also have the opportunity to support our renter-focused email strategies, and will work cross-functionally, to build, test and define email campaigns that are critical to the success of both sides of our marketplace.

Here is what you'll do as part of the team:

• Develop and own the execution of Apartment List’s email marketing strategy.
• Own the day-to-day execution of all B2B email campaigns.
• Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop test plans to optimize programs across customer lifecycle and customer segments.
• Setup and run email AB tests, segmentation and targeting.
• Collaboration with designer to create new email designs and templates.
• Report on performance and help drive optimization.
• Evaluate data and develop copy/ design iterations that can continuously improve engagement.
• Build and own the email marketing calendar to ensure timeliness and efficiency.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be successful:

• 2-4 years experience in email marketing, previous B2B marketing experience a plus.
• Experience working with marketing automation tools (SendGrid, Sailthru, or comparable program).
• Player / strategist mentality: able to set the email marketing vision, while also rolling up your sleeves to execute.
• Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and proactive approach to driving results.
• Superb copywriting skills.
• Strong communication style and skills to collaborate cross functionally.
