Job Description

Under the direction of the Informatics Core Director, the Informatics Project Manager will be responsible for supporting core activities for a large multi-site clinical trial. The study will use community engaged methods to unite experts and community stakeholders in using a data-driven approach to narrow service gaps and implement a tailored suite of programs to reduce overdose deaths across Massachusetts. The study will be carried out across sixteen sites throughout the state. The Informatics Core will be situated in the Clinical Addiction Research and Education (CARE) Unit, Section of General Internal Medicine and supplies data management and informatics support for study conduct and analysis. Major responsibilities include working with the study team to manage and support all activity within the Informatics Core by supporting all day-to-day project management and administrative issues (maintaining a project tracker to facilitate timely completion of milestones, assisting in creation of study materials, coordinating with other cores, and scheduling meetings). The Informatics Project Manager will work closely with the Core Director to ensure adherence to project timelines and successful completion of core activities and aims. The Manager will be the liaison between the Informatics Core and the other MassHEAL cores, as well as external collaborators. Additional responsibilities include preparing and assisting development of manuscripts and presentations, and ensuring compliance with reporting to grant funding institutes.
  • Report directly to the Informatics Core Director with oversight and guidance from senior research staff.
  • Facilitate communication and data management with other study Cores and external community organizations and sites.
  • Manage day-to-day study activities between Informatics Core members.
  • Oversee Informatics Core’s adherence to overall project timeline.
  • Plan agenda, facilitate, and lead weekly core meetings and ensure that minutes are taken, edited and distributed.
  • Work with the project team to develop data collection forms and protocols and facilitate trainings.
  • Contribute to development of NIH progress reports.
  • Work with research team to develop presentations, abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Conforms to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including those pertaining to patient rights, so that the best possible customer service and patient care may be provided.
  • Utilizes hospital’s behavioral standards as the basis for decision making and to support the department’s and the hospital’s goals.
  • Follows established hospital infection control and safety procedures.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
  • Must adhere to all of BMC’s RESPECT behavioral standards.

Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s Degree in Public Health preferred or a minimum of two years of work experience.
