Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established policies. Manages activities of non-exempt/exempt individual contributors (typically Expert/Master) and/or MG1s. Has accountability for a large multi-department area(s) or location(s) with significant impact on business unit results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Staff members' primary focus is on either high-end tactical or broad strategic issues or a combination of both. Recruits and supports development of direct staff members. Position typically reports to Director or above.

Controllership Contra Delivery provides centralized contra management through the standardization and continuous improvement of processes and controls with the goal of enabling and delivering greater insights and business support to our partners over time. Contra team is responsible for the majority of contra activities required to support the regions and countries across: promotions, returns, channel compensation, special negotiated discounts and special pricing big deals.

As a Contra Revenue Finance manager you will:

  • Manage a team of analysts that may support country, sub-region and region.
  • Be responsible for hiring, managing performance, coaching, and career development and ensuring that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
  • Take the lead on moderate to complex financial analysis for your assigned finance function, exercising a solid understanding of the business to determine the best method for achieving objectives.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and analysis to your partners as a key component of your role and you will work closely with your business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making.
  • proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and policy development and be fully engaged in the design.
  • Influence across multiple organizations and demonstrate strong leadership skills as you take the lead on standard business or finance process initiatives within your sub-business or finance function.
  • Be Internal and External Audit liaison and will work with various organizations and functions.

Education and Experience Required:

  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree and/or accounting certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) strongly preferred.
  • Typically 10+ years of experience in a finance function.
  • Typically 2+ years of supervisory and/or leading a project team experience.
  • Contra Revenue knowledge or Audit experience are a plus

  • Broad finance experience and accounting knowledge (US GAAP).
  • Superior understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent proven leadership and people management skills, including managing teams across countries.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, catered to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent business acumen.
  • Strong understanding of business model and HP distribution model.
  • Strong understanding of HP's policies and processes.
  • Good Excel and Power Point, effective presenter
  • Power BI and HP systems desirable: EDW, BW, LH, S4Hana
  • Excellent consulting, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
