This position is responsible for the operational oversight of corporate Datacenter network devices (e.g. routers and switches, firewalls and load-balancers). Responsibilities will include providing SME consulting with internal teams as well as external service providers, overseeing build, configuration and change management and assisting with problem resolution and root cause analysis and remediation. This position requires someone who has deep experience with network management, routers, switches, load balancers and firewalls, as well as someone who is detail oriented, who communicates well and who can work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities:

• Participates as a member of and leads cross-functional teams. Oversees/leads build, config, change and support activities. Provides mentoring and guidance to other support engineers.
• Applies in-depth and broad technical knowledge to provide solutions across multiple technology areas. Conceptualizes and implements infrastructure solutions to solve complex issues. Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for HP and customers.
• Demonstrates technical leadership, and exerts influence outside of immediate team. Mentors and consults with team members and other organizations, customer and vendors on complex issues. Represents HP IT to clients/customers. Contributes to strategic direction for HP IT.

Education and Experience Required:

Typically a technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years of related experience or a Master's degree and a minimum of 8 years of experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, STP, VLAN and VXLAN
• Advanced understanding of LAN principles and switching technology and devices including, Arista, Aruba and HPE Flexfabric
• Advanced understanding of network and security firewall principles and technology, including stateful inspection and deep-state inspection firewalls
• Advanced understanding of Internet principles and technologies, including DNS, DHCP, VPN and SSL
• Knowledge of routing concepts and protocols, including OSPF, BGP and IS-IS
• Knowledge of routing devices and technologies, including CISCO, Aruba and F5
• Knowledge of relevant OS and management tools
• Knowledge of network management principles and protocols
• General Project Management. Customer/ Vendor Management. Business Analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; influencing skills and ability to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team. Demonstrated technical leadership skills
