Job Description
SUMMARY
To support our growth and expansion plans in Korea, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join the fast paced, dynamic finance team. The hands-on role offers both variety and responsibility along with the opportunity to make a strong contribution to the Align team.
This position will report to VP Finance for APAC and dotted-line reporting to Managing Director for Korea.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, in the area of:
- Manage Finance team for Korea
- Build and develop a high performing Finance team to support growth
- Responsible for timely, consistent and accurate monthly local GAAP and US GAAP for group reporting
- Lead the monthly close process
- Responsible for Revenue, ASP, OPEX and Balance Sheet review & comments
- Review monthly reconciliations for submission to US
- Provide business partnering support to MD for Korea and Commercial Directors in terms of financial planning and analysis, monitoring of business results, managing and controlling OPEX budget, sales / promotions / customer profitability analysis, business case analysis for investments and commercial projects to support decision making
- Responsible for budgeting and rolling forecasts
- Responsible for working capital management including AR collection and payment processing and controls
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures comply with legal and Corporate guidelines/policies, including compliance (FCPA)
- Review, implement and maintain an effective and robust internal controls system in compliance to SOX requirements, and ensure adherence to approval processes
- Develop and deliver ad hoc reports for business needs
- Manage internal and external audit requirements, as well as ensure compliance to tax laws in respective tax jurisdictions within each market
- Manage local statutory reporting, and tax reporting, including VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax and business tax filing
- Provide support to audit processes and quality management system as required
- Ad hoc financial projects
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant / Chartered Accountant
- At least 8 years of relevant experience with 5 years in managerial/supervisory role
- Working experience in a fast-paced multinational company environment, with ability to operate in diverse cultures
- Experience in Korea or APAC region preferred
- Experience in leading a sizable team across different geographical locations, and a good team player
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills to give strong business partnering support
- Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
- Deadline-conscious with “can do” spirit to ensure timely reporting
- Have a positive work attitude including willing to work some longer hours during peak periods
- Agile, results oriented, customer focused
- Acts with integrity and fairness and high standards of accountability
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Language: English and Korean (written and spoken)
- Strong systems skills with prior experience of Finance ERP system. Working knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills, ability to work with lookups and pivot tables
