Back-End Engineer (Coop)

Job Description

Mobify is looking for a Back-End Engineer (Coop) to join our Product team for a 4 or 8 month term starting in January 2020 (8 month term highly preferred)! Join us in redefining how retailers and brands deliver customer experiences! Mobify’s Front-end Platform as a Service is a brand new way to unlock the agility of a headless commerce approach and power fast, immersive experiences with exciting new technology like Progressive Web Apps and Accelerated Mobile Pages . You will work on a team building a platform powering Progressive Web Apps that work across mobile, tablet and desktop web browsers. We’re using React.js and AWS Lambda to build pages that load instantly . The Mobify platform enables teams to rapidly build, run and evolve experiences that engage every shopper, regardless of their device, network, or ability.

What You’ll Do

• Model problems, then design, write, test and release server-side Python and JavaScript code to solve them
• Collaborate with engineers in code reviews to achieve higher code quality and improve your skills in giving effective feedback
• Develop using Django, Flask, Python 3, NodeJS and AWS
• Build and deploy using Docker on local, CI and production environments
• Apply software development best practices from our Developer Values and Coding Style
• Design, build and consume HTTP APIs
• Present your work to an audience at our internal Engineering Meetups
• Contribute to a platform that powers billions of pageviews a month!

Who You Are

• You’ve worked on a team building a web application, either professionally or your through studies
• You have experience in web development using Python, JavaScript or another server-side programming language
• You have deployed a web application
• You’re passionate about building great web experiences
• You’re a strong communicator who loves to collaborate with a team
