SR. INNOVATOR (Expat role in Taichung)

Overview:

Nike is always on the offense and is constantly innovating.We are looking for an individual to join the Taiwan NXT (Nike eXplore Team) to help revolutionize the world’s best athletic footwear for the world’s best athletes and most discerning consumers.In this role your mission is to provide cross functional management of a diverse portfolio of products and concepts that drives brand and category innovation from original idea through to seasonal category integration.You will work closely with NIKE and factory costing, material, engineering, and development teams in designing trials for capturing cost drivers and identifying areas of opportunity through the various phases of product and process exploration, conception, and development.You will plan and execute process development work, design and conduct scientific development trials, translate trial results into appropriate next step actions, and determine alternative methods for achieving performance targets.You will be looked upon to design and optimize process transition documents or manuals that properly communicate validated standard, process, and athlete benefits.

A successful candidate must be a good communicator, a strong collaborator, possess an ability to proactively influence multi-disciplinary teams, and has solid understanding of the product creation process.Strong project management skills are a must.Lastly, you will be responsible for ideation, visioning, creative problem solving, and critical brainstorming on new, game-changing product or processes.An ability to challenge convention and re-think the future is important.

Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5-6 years of innovation or relevant product development work experience
• In lieu of this the following are also acceptable:
• An industrial designer/engineer or developer in a related product/consumer goods field. +5 years
• An industrial designer who possess an analytical background and is capable of critical thinking along with experience in mechanical design disciplines. +5 years
• PhD +2 years, Masters +3 years, associate degree +5 years
• Strategic planning and good project management with an ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects at one time
• Creativity and an ability to challenge status quo or convention
• General knowledge of materials, manufacturing, costing and industrial engineering
• Presentation skills and working knowledge of PowerPoint, Keynote or various other electronic means to communicate a new idea or concept
• Experience with tech writing or manual creation a plus
• Independence or self-starter
• Good people skills and ability to network
• Ability to learn new technologies or processes
• Sports enthusiast and can exhibit an understanding of current events in sports and/or has participated in team sports
• Ability to work with and understand diverse cultures
• Must be willing and able to relocate to source country office in Taichung, Taiwan
