Product Manager - Platform
Description:
We are seeking a talented individual to join our team and expand our software and services product portfolio. As part of the HP TechPulse Platform team, you will create groundbreaking software experiences to help further the HP Device as a Service (DaaS) program and the Proactive Management service. HP TechPulse is a software platform which helps our internal and external customers manage their multi-OS software, hardware, and workplace environment by proactively identifying and mitigating issues.
This position requires depth of experience working with technical products. You will work with multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams to identify business requirements, define scope and write stories which enable engineering teams to deliver experiences to our customers. Experience in IT management is preferred, but a high-energy individual, with a natural tendency to collaborate with various stakeholders and engineering teams on a day-to-day basis and with a passion to make things happen, will be a perfect fit. Ability to think out of the box as well as work in a fast-paced environment is important to being successful in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Own the creative process of generating, developing, and curating new ideas and determine which ideas should be promoted into features to push the product strategy forward
- Define the why, when, and what of the product that the engineering team builds
- Lead cross-functional teams from a product's conception all the way through to its launch
- Ensure we are building solution components that are elegant, re-usable and future-prepared
- Anticipate and plan for competitive threats
- Analyze FedRAMP/SOC 2 controls and compliance requirements
- Work closely with regulatory, privacy, security, engineering, operations, sales, marketing to develop strategy for government & similar verticals in US and abroad
- Develop an expert level understanding of device, IT management, and workplace/employee experience data
- Design platform capabilities that enable our analytics and data science teams to rapidly deliver value to customers
- Design platform capabilities that make it easy for partners and customers to consume data via API's or their preferred means
- Evaluate and perform business analysis when third party integrations are needed, and facilitate their creation when appropriate
- Prepare effective business analysis as demanded by product strategy
- Prioritize features and capabilities by ranking them against strategic goals and initiatives
- Work closely with engineering on the technical specifications and ensure that the teams have all the information they need to deliver valuable outcomes
- Assist with creation of documentation or marketing materials for features, experiences, or capabilities being launched to the market
- Be comfortable with hands-on day-to-day problem solving, implementing quick and effective action plans to meet short term priorities. Be equally comfortable in generating a 3-year strategic vision, and troubleshooting a short term customer challenge

Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 5 - 7 years' experience in software product management, designing and developing software systems (SAAS platform preferred)
- Working knowledge of Amazon AWS and Open Source technologies
- Experience designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM software development processes
- Understanding of DevOps methodologies
- Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Optional Experience:
- Business analysis experience
- Experience working on both the customer and vendor side
- Familiarity with endpoint management tools such as AirWatch, MobileIron, Nexthink, Systrack, VMWare Workspace1, Microsoft Intune
- Familiarity with ITSM processes and solutions such as ServiceNow, Remedy, Freshdesk, Ivanti, etc.
- Experience with IoT technologies and use cases
- Understanding of multi-tenancy
- Experience with Azure DevOps Services (Visual Studio Online) for project management and bug tracking
