Join our sustaining engineering team for Oracle VM/PCA. This cutting-edge virtualization technology uses Oracle Java, ADF-11 & Python, engineered with state of the art hardware to manage large-scale datacenters and create virtualization & cloud solutions.

You will be responsible for problem diagnostics, code fix and patching on customer and development systems. Sustaining engineers are primarily responsible for patch diagnostics and backporting, however they are encouraged to contribute to development efforts as well.

Candidates should have

- strong knowledge in Python & shell scripting

- systems or system administration background

- good understanding of real-world datacenter layout

- storage architecture knowledge

- networking knowledge

- excellent problem solving and analytical skills

- strong debugging skills

- good communication skills (very important)

- experience working with complex problems in enterprise support is helpful

- Java knowledge is a plus.

You should have experience working in Linux environment; operational knowledge of Enterprise Linux distributions (Oracle, Red Hat, CentOS, or SuSE) is very important.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
