The Commercial Card Account Manager is responsible for servicing and expanding key corporate Travel and Purchase card relationships. Key objective is to manage and grow the commercial card relationships with a fixed portfolio of key Commercial Card Clients ensuring retention of the business, revenue growth and minimizing any attrition. Work will include regular client meetings to identify new commercial card solutions, solve problems, maintain service levels and address strategic issues.

In addition, the Commercial Card Account Manager role will be required to coordinate the implementation of Commercial Card programs from inception to completion focusing on design, build, launch and overall client experience.

This dual role requires the engagement and leadership of a diverse set of internal partners to deliver services and solutions in a coordinated fashion. It also provides a significant opportunity to further develop client-facing skills in leading issue resolution, driving company objectives, and project management. This will develop relationship management skills that can be used in broader coverage and relationship management roles within Citi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the implementation process and engage senior stakeholders on the Client side to ensure that expected spend volumes are achieved
  • Provide oversight of BAU activities which are managed by the Customer Account Specialists to ensure the existing cards program is operating smoothly
  • Build relationships with multiple contacts/departments within the Client organization to minimize dependency on a single individual and enable growth discussions
  • Work with Clients to understand their current payment processes and identify opportunities to insert card solutions e.g. Meetings and Events, Centralized Travel solutions, Accounts Payable and B2B more generally
  • Cross sell new products, payment flows and geographies by offering competitive pricing to Clients whilst ensuring a sustainable level of revenue to the Bank.
  • Manage the contract renewal process including RFP handling, pricing, sales presentation, negotiation and deal closure
  • Follow standard project methodology for each implementation incorporating client deliverables to provide a best in class implementation, providing guidance to the client with respect to the tasks and their role within the plan
  • Conduct discovery and readiness meetings with clients to ensure systems and products are clearly defined and understood by the client
  • Leverage key understanding of technical systems to partner with external client technical teams to support Single-Use Payment Instruction File setup and manage the client's expectations regarding integration of commercial card platform data into their back office systems
  • Ensure compliance to policies and procedures outlined by the Commercial Card Product Construct and Onboarding Solutions Compliance
  • Execute configuration of commercial card platforms based on agreed upon client requirements within best practice guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in client facing roles including implementations, business project management or comparable experiences
  • Commercial Card experience required
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • CRM knowledge preferred
