Germany Regulatory Reporting AVP

Job Description

Job Purpose:

• Key position within the German Regulatory Reporting Team supporting the newly created broker-dealer entity as well as the CEP Germany/CBNA Frankfurt entities.
• The positions works closely with senior management, the local regulator and all key stakeholders, locally and on international level
• Expert in the regulatory environment with a strong focus on analysis of regulations, technical implementation and infrastructure for capital markets products

Job Background/Context:

• This is role is within the German Finance function driven by Citibank’s response to Brexit where the German banking business was transferred to a newly created German branch of Citibank Europe plc in April 2018
• The German broker-dealer business remained within Citigroup Global Markets Europe AG (“CGME”). CGME became a subsidiary of Citigroup Global Markets Limited in the UK (“CGML”) and at the same time CEP Frankfurt was created
• The key to success is the ability to have a high level of understanding for local regulatory requirements, the firms technical infrastructure and working efficiently with various FRSS and CSC teams in different countries

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and supervising local regulatory reporting subjects to ensure timely and accurate reporting of regulated vehicles to German authorities.
• Drive projects relating to implementation of regulatory frameworks
• Daily coordination with CSC Budapest supporting local German regulatory group
• Ensure overall reporting efficiency and identify process improvements and drive re-engineering initiatives
• Contact & support for new capital markets products in regards to regulatory reporting
• Regulatory reporting contact for Internal Audit or KPMG during the year end close
• Support MCA process across German Regulatory Reporting Function
• Support Business and NPAC processes

Qualifications:

• University degree in finance or other equivalent financial background
• Excellent in written and spoken German as well as in English (with the ability to represent the entity in front of the with regulator in German)

Competencies

• Team player and very good interactive communication skills
• Responsible, committed and self-motivated

Experience/Knowledge:

• Minimum 4-6 years job experience within Finance area and specifically in regulatory reporting
• Experience in dealing with the German regulator
• In depth understanding of capital markets products and their regulatory treatment

Skills:

• Excellent communication skills with professional and diplomatic approach
• Reengineering, project management and process change skills
• Very good technical skill
