The JPMorgan Chase Consumer Banking Digital Consumer Experience (DCE) team is responsible for creating a simple, capable, cohesive, human + personal digital banking experience for our over 70 million customers. We work across every possible channel; from our rich web application to our mobile applications to ATMs to a range of virtual assistant experiences. Experience design partners closely with its partner Lines of Business (LOBs), tech counterparts, developers, user researchers, design planners + content editors to create and realize visions for digital banking products and experiences. Job Description

This role is co-located in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area (initially San Francisco based, and after 3/2020 Palo Alto based) is an integral part of the Digital Customer Experience (DCE) team led by JPMC’s Chief Experience Officer (CXO) in San Francisco. Reporting to the Authentication Tribe Lead, the Senior Design Lead, VP will work in lock-step with the Authentication Product and Tech partners to define and innovate how customers securely engage with the bank on all our channels – mobile, web, ATM, in-branch – using existing methods such as MFA, In-App Verification, Biometrics, as well other game-changing bleeding-edge techniques. Elegant, thoughtful, confidence-inspiring authentication that helps Chase customers feel protected yet unhindered is the ultimate goal.

Working in tight collaboration with the Product partners, the Senior Design Lead, VP will help conceive of and scope leading-edge authentication approaches, and then translate the resulting concepts into vivid actionable designs that can be implemented by JPMC’s technology arm. This will involve crafting user journeys, collaborating with the Researcher(s) to validate approaches, evolving the experiences based upon outcomes, and eventually shepherding the design implementation with the Technology team.

Day-to-day this role will work with a team of designers, researchers, content strategists, developers and product managers that will take on conceiving of and crafting new product and service initiatives, particularly as it pertains to digital authentication of customers so they can seamlessly and confidently access their Chase digital products.

In this role you will:

  • Work closely with Product and Technology owning the design of thoughtful and confidence-inspiring authentication (cyber security) experiences for Chase customers
  • Assist the Tribe Lead to hire and run a world-class design team in conceiving of, defining, pitching, and scoping leading-edge authentication approaches
  • Collaborate with Product, Tech, and others to transition concepts from DCE to implementation teams – maintaining design ownership of the final outcomes
  • Simplify and turn complex interactions into intuitive and delightful user experiences
  • Synthesize and focus ideas, design opportunities, research, and creative vision into tangible assets for Chase customers
  • Continuously scan the horizon both inside and outside of Chase for emerging trends that could play into future roadmaps
  • Travel as needed for collaboration with internal/external partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a user experience or design related field
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in designing consumer facing technology products
  • Expert at using various design tools, most notably InVision, Sketch, Illustrator and other UX & prototyping softwares
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, Symphony, etc.
  • Relevant background in the Authentication space, designing customer facing experiences (Fintech, banking, finance, insurance, crypto exchange, etc)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to present status, facts, thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise, convincing and organized manner
  • Solid end-to-end understanding of UX/product development, and research methodologies
  • Passion for high-performance innovation and design culture
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, problem resolution and decision-making skills
  • Highly competent in handling ambiguity and conflict resolution associated with working in a fast-paced and changing environment with multiple constituencies, multiple simultaneous objectives and deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-disciplinary and geographically dispersed environment
  • Agile, self-driven, design thinker
