PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The execution team within SAP Innovative Business Solutions (IBSO) is chartered with executing custom development projects and related services, where success is measured by effectively leveraging our ability to deliver those projects on-time, on-budget and with superior quality

You will be working as part of SAP Innovative Business Solutions (IBSO) – RUN Delivery team, which is a development and support formation with the Innovative Business Solutions (IBSO) within the SAP Innovative Services and Solutions (ISS) area. Your aim should be to take ownership of the solution and all issues for the product/project. In the process of delivering the best services towards our customers you are required to interact with the customer towards resolution of all issues within the project/product and to make yourself the trusted advisor of choice for their business.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to perform analysis of customer business processes and propose end-to-end solutions that are best fit for customers, based on SAP’s technology stack.

Maximize out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities of SAP products and propose best in class customizations with proven best practices to fulfill the gaps between OOTB functionalities and customer requirements.

Drive the development of the product / project’s Vision and Scope and negotiate the right MVS (minimum viable scope), which can deliver value to the customer faster.

Drive the development of the Product Backlog and high-level release plans, aligned to the customers’ market commitments.

Provide direction to development teams for custom solution realization and implementation; and participate, as necessary, in design, implementation, testing, documentation, go-live and dev-ops planning and execution.

Responsible for ensuring the quality of the solution, including required security and threat modelling and GDPR compliance.

Guide and influence team members to accomplish the team’s technical and schedule goals.

Effective change management on projects by analyzing the impact of any new requirements on the project scope & timelines

Provide support to the sales teams to shape deals, through evaluations, estimations, and participation in the presales cycle

Driving adoption of newer cutting-edge technology within the organization through knowledge sessions, adoption of the same in the solution, etc.

Work closely with other SAP IBSO team members, SAP development teams, external partners and customer teams to ensure success.

This role may require 50% (sometimes 100% depending on case-to-case basis) travel to drive customer success

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

12+ years of overall experience in design and development of enterprise applications and solutions with a minimum of 4+ years in the role of an Architect. The candidate should have strong command over Java programming languages with experience in delivering solutions based on popular opensource frameworks and technologies like Spring Frameworks, Node.js, AngularJS, RESTful Webservices and so on.

Should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of various architectural styles and design patterns.

Should have good understand of various Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP).

Should have experience in designing and writing test scripts using test automation frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber etc..

Experience in envisioning, solutioning, designing and executing end-to-end solutions using agile development methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.

Good understanding of DevOps tools and concepts, with some working experience of automated continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using tools like Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, etc...

Good understand of architecture, design and functional knowledge of omni-channel eCommerce platforms and with in-depth knowledge and best practices on online B2B, B2C, B2B2C and Market Place implementation models. Understanding of emerging trends and competitive landscape of eCommerce practices in play across regions, industry players would be an added advantage.

Ability and willingness to learn and scale up in new technologies quickly should be demonstrable.

Experience in executing geographically distributed projects and working with culturally diverse teams; experience of working at customer locations for 2+ years is a definite plus.
