Job Description

Responsible for leading factory engineering support activities relative to custom PC services. This individual would reside in El Paso, Texas and support CS services for new product launches and Sustaining issues resolution at the Juarez mfg location. Function would work with various management levels to provide updates on new product introductions and production issues. The Engineer would identify improvement areas and help to generate process/tool improvements. The role would interact with a variety of e2e teams including customers, account-mgmt functions, multiple Eng functions, Factory Ops / Quality, etc. Would serve as the primary Lead for driving resolution at the manufacturing location. The role would work on problems/projects of diverse complexity and scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and leads a program involving one or more functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a subsystem or component of a product or service offering.
  • Participates as a member on diverse project teams involving functions spanning from the customer to development teams to various Production-support teams.
  • Role would often lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high- quality manufacturing solutions for products from new product introduction through end of lifecycle.
  • Function would interact with different management levels / stakeholders to communicate project progress and issue resolution plans.
  • Engineer would direct recovery plan when a factory faces a major issue (risk of production hold) to coordinate corrective-action plans.
  • Function would develop and monitor factory escalation plans & procedures.
  • Would implement changes as needed to product or process to reduce defects, improve quality, and lower costs.
  • Engineer would perform regular process audits and ensure key quality control processes (eg. EOLA) conform to HP specification.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • 8+ years experience required (technical/engineering preferred)

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Familiar with PC Hardware/Software system integration
  • Using project planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in debugging technical issues.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and directing cross-functional teams and resources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual: Mastery of English and Spanish language
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate at management levels.
