UI Designer – Digital Eyewear Startup

BCG Digital Ventures is building a digital eyewear startup in Shanghai with one of the world’s leading technology companies in the optics space. We will be the first to provide a digitally connected end-to-end vision care solution that is tailored to the lives of modern-day professionals. Using advanced capturing technology and artificial intelligence, everyday professionals can reliably and easily track the health of their eyes, and get the spectacles that best match their needs and personality.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking for a UI Designer who will craft a digital experience that connects regular offline eye exams with the continuity of an online vision profile that recommends the best fitting spectacles in terms of health and style. You will transform what is currently a broken, transaction-focused, eyewear shopping process to a delightful, yet educating, vision care journey.

• Own and drive the visual language, polish and consistency across the entire user journey
• Create a digital experience that bridges O2O (offline-to-online and online-to-offline) touchpoints
• Visualise front-end prototypes to varying levels of fidelity to demonstrate and test concepts and ideas
• Conduct user research and provide recommendations in both written and visual format
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and other designers to prioritize work and deliverables
• Set expectations and estimate time and delivery of UI components with an agile mindset
• Document and manage a scalable design system

• Outstanding portfolio of prior work that demonstrates strong user-centered as well as visual design capabilities
• Proven ability and experience in designing UI/UX for both desktop and mobile applications, especially within the Chinese mobile ecosystem
• Deep knowledge of e-commerce, gamification, AR/VR and O2O service design
• Expert understanding of information architecture, workflows, concept development and interaction design
• Experience in translating user research and usability test findings into iterative product solutions
• Advanced prototyping skills (not limited to Adobe CC, inVision and Sketch)
• Prior experience in startup environment highly valued
