Gracenote’s sports database is one of the largest in the world. Customers and partners are national and international media, TV channels, international sports federations and organizers of events (such as the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games). Gracenote Sports offers its customers innovative distribution and publishing solutions with the ambition to publish the data within one second in all products.
In order to meet the 24/7/365 requirements of our customers, as well as those of internal groups like Engineering and Customer Care, Gracenote has created the Service Operation Support (SOS) team. With a goal of meeting the company’s internal and external needs, the SOS group is working to create a modern, scalable and highly automated platform for comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting for our heterogeneous infrastructure, and a large number of application components. Our customers demand accurate and up to date data, and the SOS group has been built to ensure that we deliver it.

Currently, we are looking for a

SUPPORT ENGINEER

to become part of our SOS team. This position is based in Nieuwegein (The Netherlands) as part of a growing global team with members in the United States and Canada.

WHAT'S THE JOB?

As a Support Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the onboarding/offboarding of customers, ensure reliable and on time product and data delivery, as well as supporting the overall operation of the SOS group. Additionally, resolving or escalating issues from submission/detection to fulfillment/resolution. You will be working a rotating schedule (including on-call shifts) within your team, and your primary duties include technical triaging, providing status updates and communications to management as required. This candidate should have a passion for automation and quality; An understanding of the interaction between Legacy and Current Systems, On-Premises and Cloud; and most importantly: the desire to constantly make things better. Main responsibilities are:

  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues in the operational data flow
  • Maintaining, tuning of our applications and suggestions for improvement
  • Internal documentation

WHOM ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Main requirements are:

  • Basic understanding of API’s
  • Experience with SQL server and T-SQL or other such as: Oracle, PLSQL
  • Experience with AWS or similar cloud services such as: Google Cloud, Microsoft Cloud, Azure, IBM solutions
  • Experience with Linux
  • Programming/Scripting experience using program languages such as Python / Shell / Bash would be a great asset.
  • Experience with analysis of data and front end applications
  • Good problem solving/analytical skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication skills in English
