What you’ll be doing...
Tableau’s Conferences, events in the US and globally, draw thousands of attendees from around the globe seeking to learn more about seeing and understanding data. The Event Marketing Business Analyst for conference event program’s responsibilities include building and maintaining ticket and sponsorship acquisition revenue and forecasting models, draft P&Ls, drive account receivables and record, maintain and analyze data. The role requires the ability to identify and gather relevant data, structure data into a usable format, explore the data through analysis until insights are gleaned, and communicate insights to various audiences to support decision making. This role will work closely with the marketing, sales, finance, procurement, sourcing and technology teams.
Some of the things you’ll be doing will include...
- Build and maintain ticket acquisition and ticket revenue and forecasting models including pricing, discount structures, bulk groupings, comps, selling timelines, WOW projections, etc.
- Coordinate with the event marketing and sales team on setting and reporting on ticket and sponsorship quota.
- Manage comp code process, code creation, and distribution.
- Contribute to the identification of new revenue streams.
- Build and maintain sponsorship revenue and forecasting models and ongoing tracking and recalibrating.
- Create and standardize financial and operational reports/dashboards, process metrics, KPI’s, etc.
- Build and maintain P&Ls projections, scenarios and actuals.
- Build expense tracking model and provide regular analysis.
- Collaborate with events team on event data and analysis as well as assist in the development and reconciliation of event budgets.
- Manage quarterly forecasting, tracking and updating budget versus actual variance analyses.
- Oversee contract and invoicing processes and execution (RFP/RFQ/SOW/POs, etc.).
- Drive account receivables model and execution; responsible for the resolution of escalated issues within the AR Help framework.
- Record, maintain and analyze historical, current and statistical data; conduct regular audits of systems and channels to ensure accuracy.
- Work with business owners to investigate the performance drivers and identify complex strategy/business line issues. Develops recommendations to address problems/issues and informs the supervisor, project leader or manager.
- This role works closely with marketing, sales, finance, procurement, sourcing and technology teams.
Who you are...
- Experienced . 5-7+ years of experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis or sales operations role, preferably for a cloud-based company. Experience with large conference and corporate events. Ability to influence and drive, both horizontally and vertically. Providing leadership, guidance and implementation on driving process improvement. Prior work with an international team a strong plus.
- Performer. Strong analytics profile and understanding. Ability to effectively manage, consolidate and analyze data from multiple, disparate data sources
- Detail oriented. Detailed oriented, resourceful, inquisitive and ambitious. Self-starter with the ability to work well in a team-oriented and intensely deadline-driven environment
- Go- Getter. Strong work ethic with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Self-directed and resourceful. Ability to identify problems and raising issues at the right time.
- A True Team Player . A willingness to jump in and help when needed, learn and teach new skills, and have the experience and professionalism required to meet objectives. The ability to work well individually, while collaborating successfully in a diverse team.
- Domain . Experience with Tableau and Salesforce. Heavy experience with Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of macros and VBA preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Excel and Word) is required. Knowledge of Event Core a plus
- Educated . BS/BA or advanced degree in related field
