Staff Software Engineer, Full-Stack

What you'll be doing...

Would you like to work on one of the newest products in the Business Intelligence industry? Are you excited about helping people to see and understand their data? We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Web Developer with a passion for data to join our team to develop new products and features. The team’s main focus is enabling customers to have a delightful front-end experience when using Tableau products. We're looking for a person who shares our belief that the best product is simple, beautiful, and easy to use - and that our customers deserve the absolute best experience using our products. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing blue sky features and architectural patterns.

Some of the things you'll be doing include...

• Making key decisions for product architecture, product strategy, and engineering practices
• Providing technical guidance and support to a vibrant engineering team
• Collaborating with developers and test engineers across the company
• Innovating in our code base and improving our technologies
• Working in a fast paced, agile environment
• Designing and developing cross-platform, multi-technology front-end and back-end web interfaces

Who you are...

• Experienced. You have 10+ years of experience designing complex solutions, developing commercial software, working on world class user interface for web and desktop. You know what it takes to build enterprise-ready software. You have provided technical leadership to an engineering team for 3 or more years.
• Technical. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. You have a solid technical foundation, established through learning, experience, and mastery of various technologies and methodologies. You are an OOP expert with excellent grasp of at least one object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java. You understand web server architecture, and are fluent in JavaScript and CSS. Familiarity with React and TypeScript is a plus.
• Customer-focused. You have a habit of thinking from customer’s perspective. The overall user experience of a product is important to you. You are eager to help with identifying and solving existing or potential problems our customers might encounter in the field.
• Relentlessly High Standards. You love building great products. You are passionate about maintaining high code quality. You help teams adopt great engineering practices. You are able to identify areas for improvement and work on bringing about positive change over time.
• Self-Motivated. Doing great work and the drive to deliver is just a part of you. You enjoy venturing out, expanding your areas of knowledge, and becoming a domain expert.
