Position Overview

Enterprises use MemSQL to solve some of the most cutting-edge technical challenges in today’s data-driven world. When a new customer, partner, or employee deploys MemSQL, our Training Team enables them to become experts with the software. We do this through in-person classroom, virtual classroom, and self-paced training experiences.

As a Training Specialist at MemSQL you will be half instructional designer and half trainer. You will work with multiple teams to optimize create and refine engaging training curriculum for all modes of delivery. You will be part of a small training team and as such you will wear many hats to support the enablement of our customers, partners, and employees.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person training sessions at customer sites and virtual classroom courses to our customers wherever they might be.
• Contribute to the development of new curriculum including instructor-led and self-paced
• Contribute to the constant improvement and updating of existing curriculum so that it is current and follows training best practices.
• Collaborate with technical and business subject matter experts to ensure accuracy of the content and delivery that supports internal and external needs.
• As the need for training grows, participate in the development and delivery of Train the Trainer experiences to ramp partner trainers on MemSQL and training best practices.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3+ years experience delivering in-person or virtual classroom training.
• 3+ years experience developing curriculum for instructor-led and/or self-paced training.
• Hands-on experience working with enterprise databases, data warehouses, and distributed solutions.
• Working knowledge of SQL and of UNIX utilities (scp, ssh, grep, vi, ps, etc.).
• ANSI SQL programming competency.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50%, including occasional international travel.
