Your Role and Responsibilities
The Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) Data Science team at IBM is a group of data science professionals unlike any other. Our team is passionate about leveraging data driven techniques and methodologies to better support business processes. Being at the center of the Enterprise Operations & Services organization, affords us the unique opportunity to influence both proximate and long-term business strategy decisions. The ideal addition to our team is a naturally inquisitive individual with experience in analyzing complex data sets. Q2C Data Science team members must be dedicated practitioners of the data science methodology in all facets of their professional life.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
· A degree in a quantitative field like Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
· Proficient usage of an SQL platform
· Data wrangling: Cleaning, munging, merging and analyzing large quantities of structured and unstructured data
· Exploratory Data Analysis experience
· Storytelling: Communicating business insights to executive management in concise, colorful and clear presentations
· Programming expertise in Python and the relevant data science packages (Numpy, SciPy, Pandas, sci-kit learn)
· Ability to succeed in a challenging and engaging project-oriented work environment
. Fluent level of spoken and written English
· Professional collaboration with a diverse team of data science professionals
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
What we’d love to see (Preferred):
· Usage of machine learning tools and statistical techniques to develop appropriate analytic solutions.
· Ability to utilize IBM Cognos or similar tools for the creation of interesting dynamic visualization dashboards
· SPSS modeler knowledge
· Other coding languages: Javascript, R
· Your personal Github or Kaggle account demonstrating proficiency in data analysis and machine learning
· Meaningful data science contributions at your previous employer or academic contributions (for example development of a production cloud-based application or machine learning algorithm or visual interactive dashboard)
· Individual research/deep dives into quantitively oriented disciplines
· A history of creative and innovative approaches to technical problem solving
