Endoscopy Tech - CNA/MA

Job Description

Hours: Full Time; Monday - Friday; TBD
Location: The Polyclinic 1145 Broadway
Reprocess, store and maintain endoscopy scopes/equipment and order supplies/ equipment to ensure the endoscopy center is fully equipped for patient procedures. This position also requires assisting physicians in procedure rooms within the scope of practice of the CNA/MA, procedure room set up and turn over, greeting and escorting patients, assisting patients to dress and taking/documenting patient’s vital signs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare supplies and equipment for reprocessing/sterilization.
• Endoscope cleaning, high level disinfection and maintenance.
• Responsible for procedure equipment set up and orchestrating what scopes need to be used when, where and by whom.
• Order supplies, equipment and/or instruments.
• Support physicians by assisting in procedure rooms within the scope of practice of the CNA/MA.
• Support nursing staff by assisting with room turnover and patient recovery/discharge/transport.
• Assist with paperwork at front desk and throughout the unit.
• Work as a team member within the endoscopy center and with all other Polyclinic departments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma required.

Certification/Licensure:

• Certified Nursing or Certified Medical Assistant in the State of Washington
• Active BCLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers required.
• Obtain SGNA GI technical specialist certificate within 3 months of hire.

Experience :

• One year of CNA/MA experience preferred
• Previous endoscopy technician/reprocessing experience preferred
