Description
The Consumer Loan Reviewer partners with the Operations team to manage member relationships by executing sound and consistent origination decisions within established credit authority and approval guidelines, in compliance with SoFi policies and procedures. The Consumer Loan Reviewer contributes to SoFi’s consumer loan portfolio growth, maintaining portfolio quality and margins as well as providing a high quality member experience.
Primary duties include: proficiency management, efficient and accurate transaction management, data maintenance, compliance, relationship management (internal and external), pricing analysis, research and customer account analysis.

Essential Job Functions:
- Review applications pursuant to credit policies and procedures- including analyzing credit reports, analyzing income from various sources excluding self-employment and verifying documents provided by applicants
- Verify identity, income, and other required documentation
- Perform outbound outreach to applicants and work with the applicant and the Operations team to successfully move applications through the process to funding
- Prepare and present applications that may be eligible for credit exceptions to management
- Receiving inbound calls from our members and assisting them on the questions they may have
- Provide best-in-class client service through friendly, professional and responsive communication with both internal and external customers
- Develop strong knowledge of internal processes and procedures to ensure the quality of loan system data and the adequacy of paperless loan documentation
- Document clear and concise notes in every application including all customer correspondence, using selected templates where appropriate
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications and experience:
- Advanced computer skills with solid proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Databases and Web.
- Ability to exhibit grace under pressure, while successfully navigating complex work assignments/situations efficiently and effectively
- Consistently meet critical deadlines in dynamic, rapidly changing environment
- Establish productive working relationships with co-workers, management and clients
- Self-motivated and able to work independently applying analytical skills required to manage reviewing tasks
- Excellent organizational, time management, and written and oral communications skills
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic, high accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent quantitative skills, demonstrates accurate mathematical application
- Experience handling high volume transactions
- College degree desired. High school diploma or GED required.
- Decision making skills (experience making decisions, uncovering needs)
Please note: overtime, evenings, nights and weekend days will be required.
