Role & Responsibilities
As a finance team member you will have broad exposure to various functions at Airbnb, including Engineering, Product, Business Development & Customer Experience and will also work closely with external business partners. We are seeking an Analyst, Cash Operations to report to our Manager, Cash Operations. In this role you will:
- Support and assist in managing remote teams responsible for cash accounting for Airbnb globally.
- Provide ongoing support to remote Airbnb cash accounting and 3rd party vendor teams.
- Engage in testing for major phases of FAH implementation including Report testing CRP1, CRP2, SIT and parallel run testing
- Assist in periodic audit of AirSeva reconciliations and analysis
- Collaborate with internal business partners such as Business Intelligence, Product, Finance Systems, Treasury, Engineering to implement new integrations including bank accounts, processors, and products.
- Assist in preparing training material for remote team on operation of new processes once implementation has been completed.
- Collaborate with both internal and external partners to investigate and resolve cash-impacting reporting discrepancies.
- Build and own reliable and scalable processes and controls for global key cash and payments accounting. Mitigate finance and payments risks.
- Maintain & support internally built knowledge base in Atlassian Confluence to reflect business and process changes.
- Enhance operations and build new models such as accruals & reporting. - Work on other ad hoc projects within the finance organization, as required.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in operational accounting in a Big 4 accounting firm or with industry experience at a top tier company (Tech industry and/or public company experience preferred)
- B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a closely related discipline
- CPA certification a strong plus
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition guidance
- Experience researching and documenting technical accounting matters
- Advanced Excel knowledge. SQL knowledge (Basic to Intermediate) a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience analyzing high volume, multi-currency transactions in a global business environment
- Systems experience: Workday, Oracle, and large ERP system preferred
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills - ability to work with a diverse team and impart change across functional and business boundaries
- Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper growth environment
- Ability to define and implement internal or external controls or best practices
- Desire to continuously improve and a positive, "can-do" approach
