About the role:

The Associate Brand Marketing Manager will be a key contributor in building a new brand from the ground-up. Reporting to the Brand Strategy and Communications Manager, you’ll support the strategic development and execution of the brand’s integrated marketing initiatives to build awareness, favorability and rider intent. Cruise is a fast-paced, dynamic environment and you will be an integral part of the ambitious and rapidly growing Cruise Marketing team.

In the near term, the Associate Brand Marketing Manager will own the development of our Employer Brand marketing and communications, which will attract the elite engineers Cruise needs to create a self-driving rideshare service. You’ll build Cruise’s reputation as a place to work by managing and executing marketing tactics that drive candidate awareness and consideration. You’ll champion the brand by ensuring Cruise’s employer brand activations reflect Cruise’s master brand strategy. You’ll be a key thought leader and partner to the marketing, recruiting and engineering teams.

In parallel and longer term, the Associate Brand Marketing Manager will help the Brand Strategy and Communications Manager and the broader marketing team make strategic decisions around Cruise’s brand strategy and the first brand expressions into market. You’ll provide critical thinking into how we communicate our brand throughout the marketing funnel and across different channels. Working with Cruise’s creative and media agencies, you’ll help develop the assets and communications that will run across owned, earned and paid media. You’re the glue that holds the team together, coordinating the end-to-end execution and measurement with the agency and Cruise cross-functional partners. Managing approvals with key internal and external stakeholders, you’ll build relationships and influence with Cruise leadership.

You’ll also serve as a brand champion, helping evangelize the brand across the company by training employees on brand foundations. As the point person for brand best practices, you’ll facilitate conversations and build internal brand management processes so Cruisers can effectively incorporate brand into their work.

Day-to-day responsibilities Include:

  • Support brand managers in the planning, strategy, communications, creative development and execution of brand campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Design, Communications, Insights, and Product teams in the development and execution of brand campaigns.
  • Execute brand communication plan across all paid, owned, and earned media channels. Ensure all marketing channels are aligned with core strategy and messaging.
  • Communicate marketing plans, key initiatives and results to internal stakeholders effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner with recruiting and engineering teams to develop employer branding marketing campaigns that attract and engage top talent for difficult to fill positions. Manage and execute marketing tactics.
  • Create, develop, and maintain the Brand Marketing wiki to drive education and engagement across the Cruise organization. Be the go-to person for brand approvals and guidelines.

You should apply for this role if you have the following qualifications :

  • 3+ years experience in consumer brand or marketing.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles, practices and procedures.
  • Experience in developing, implementing and reporting on integrated marketing plans.
  • Experience working with creative and media agencies.
  • Ability to build sustainable relationships to create effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with team members and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Impeccably detailed-oriented, demanding excellence in every deliverable.
  • Use a “solution-oriented” approach to resolve problems or overcome challenges.
  • Infectious energy that brings ambition and enthusiasm into their work.
  • Proactive, Curiosity, Learning Agility, Empathy, Strategic Thinking and Adaptable are all key traits.
  • Ability to work in San Francisco.
