Job Description

At Zendesk we are in search of a Director of Product Marketing to join our Platform and Emerging Products team. Reporting to the Head of Product Marketing for Platform and Emerging Products, your will be responsible for helping to grow our new and emerging business across a suite of products, with a primary focus on Zendesk Connect. In this role you will partner closely with our Product GMs, Sales Leaders, Brand and Campaigns teams.

Responsibilities

    • Develop product positioning that differentiates Zendesk by understanding customer needs, product roadmap, market trends, and competitive forces
    • Plan and execute product/feature launches across cross-functional teams (spanning Product, Marketing, Support, Service, Sales) and related sales enablement
    • Work with Product Management to establish a continuous feedback loop (encompassing market trends, customer needs, and competitive factors) to influence the product development roadmap and mitigate product gaps
    • Collaborate with Sales to understand & support ongoing enablement, and maximize impact of messaging for the mid-market and enterprise audience
    • Messaging and positioning for Zendesk Connect in coordination with your peers in the PMM and Product teams
    • Develop and own GTM strategy and Sales Enablement in coordination with Sales and Enablement teams
    • Co-creation with your campaigns counterpart of an integrated marketing plan that drives pipeline and bookings

Requirements

    • 5-7 years product marketing experience, preferably in the B2B space
    • Passionate storyteller who can articulate both verbally and in writing a compelling vision
    • Can quickly synthesize technical content into ‘positioning’ for non-technical audiences and craft messaging that connects with both internal stakeholders and customers
    • Can start multiple initiatives at the same time and energetically pursue them to show continued iterative progress
    • Leader who is comfortable in a start-up like environment and who can operate independently to build out new programs and initiatives for our emerging business units
    • Team player who can work across an organization to build a plan, get alignment and execute it
    • Customer-first mentality

Nice To Have

    • Background in SaaS platforms and the platform competitive market
    • Experience marketing to CX leaders, IT and/or Developers
    • Previous management experience
    • Technical aptitude and familiarity with platform or data products
