At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.

About the role This role will be a leadership role within the S&P team. You will play a key role in informing the region’s strategy and investments across operational, financial, people and product decisions, with an eye towards external trends and the competitive food delivery / F&B / tech landscape. We're looking for someone who can maintain and communicate a birds-eye view and also get into all the details and execute, and who can do so quickly and in a highly dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Synthesize and communicate market trends. Manage research, analysis and organizational processes to provide leadership with a strong pulse on market trends, competition and opportunities.
  • Advise leadership on strategic investment opportunities. Turn the above into clear decisions, recommendations and investments for our region.
  • Mentor and guide team members focused on analytics and technical projects.
  • Lead by example : Be incredibly truth-seeking with data, set a high bar for the team to think boldly and creatively, communicate frequently and with high quality; then funnel that energy into concrete processes and execution plans.

What you’ll need

  • 12+ years experience in business strategy or operations, including 2+ years managing a team / senior stakeholders. Experience in a high-growth / highly-dynamic environment preferred. Some international experience preferred
  • People management and development experiemce could be advantageous
  • Strategic and business acumen. Stellar ability to understand industry trends, competitive moves, and opportunities.
  • Data-driven thinking . A quantitative approach to recommending investments in spending, people or product.
  • Excellent communication ability. Clear and concise communication with an eye towards takeaways and next steps, whether in writing, decks or live meetings.
  • Executive collaboration . You will be working closely with GM, RGM and Director level leaders and need to feel comfortable and fluent doing so.
  • Project management : Proactive communication, punctuality, clear timelines
  • Speed and balancing priorities . Many tasks, from tiny to huge, come to this role, and you must be able to execute quickly and while frequently re-prioritizing.
  • Bias towards action . This is one of the key roles that determine whether initiatives get acted on and have an impact, or fall behind in the “idea dustbin”.
  • Grit and positivity . APAC is a challenging market and S&P is given both the visibility to know and the mandate to fix many of our biggest challenges.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (~10-20%) and ability to work well with those in separate time zones and over video calls in other countries.
