RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy and Execution:

• Communicate strategic objectives and team/individual metrics clearly. Ensure quality execution of daily/weekly stand-ups with timely information sharing. ​
• Drive and participate in strategic carrier procurement strategies (i.e. Drop Trailer, Navisphere procurement, RFP bid process, etc.), collaborating with shared services and supporting the customer sales and committed capacity process.
• Utilize analytics for decision-making, managing employee performance, and improving quality. Promote team-wide analytics usage for appropriate action based on results.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of C.H. Robinson's logistics products, services, and carrier network. Lead by example in staying current with industry trends and technology advancements impacting carrier management.
• Act as a subject matter expert on carrier management, effectively communicating with internal stakeholders. Champion organizational transformation initiatives related to carrier management processes.

Relationship Management:

• Collaborate to implement, review, and foster carrier relationship strategies for growth and retention.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with internal partners and customer-facing teams. Develop capacity strategies, manage issues, cultivate high-level client relationships, and participate in customer presentations/communications for quality execution.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, effectively communicating capacity strategies and changes, and fostering teamwork for success.
• Stay informed about business needs, changes, opportunities, and customer expectations, ensuring capacity team members are well-informed and positioned to deliver.

Team Management:

• Lead and coach a team of carrier management specialists, providing daily guidance to optimize carrier performance, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Support problem resolution and remove roadblocks for the carrier management team.
• Encourage open communication and continuous improvement by soliciting feedback through surveys and manager input.
• Participate in the recruitment, selection, promotion, and development of qualified and diverse talent within the carrier management team.
• Efficiently plan employee schedules for optimal coverage and monitor weekly hours to manage personnel and overtime costs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of logistics-related experience; capacity experience preferred
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
• Passionate about leading people and diligent in driving engagement and performance improvement
• Strong communication skills; ability to build effective relationships, collaborate, negotiate and influence
• Experience managing cross-functional projects
• Comfortable and capable of presenting to both internal and external audiences
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to quickly adjust individual or team priorities based on business needs
